Spring Has Sprung

LinkedIn & Wordpress get updates, Google gets Robots

But it doesn’t quite feel like it yet, does it? The temps have been steadily increasing, but the wind has been borderline ridiculous here. Cleaning branches off the roof and lawn is going to take up a lot of this weekend once the rain stops.

We’re also coming up on the end of the first quarter - how are your sales so far? I find that it’s pretty common for people to tweak their marketing plans around this time. In December and January, it’s easy to create a large list of things we’d like to do. In March and April, we tend to focus in on 1 or 2 things that will move the needle.

Give me shout if you’d like some help with that. In the meantime, enjoy this week’s finds.

LinkedIn Pages Keep Getting More Useful

LinkedIn Pages have long been ignored - both by the LinkedIn developers and the members. But that has changed, and LinkedIn Pages have received steady updates recently. Here are some of the newest additions:

  • Scheduled posts for your LinkedIn Page up to three months in advance.

  • LinkedIn Audio Events - like a live podcast directly from within the LinkedIn platform.

  • Have all new job listings shared as an automatic post to your Page

  • Follow other Pages as your LinkedIn Page - keep track of trending conversations and engage in industry discussions to establish your brand voice.

Big WordPress Update Coming

Chances are, if you have a website, it’s built on WordPress. Version 6.2 of WordPress 6.2 is scheduled to be released next Tuesday. It will be the first major release of 2023. It promises to improve how you navigate and edit your site.

Yes, Google Users Get Robots Too

Like every other company (it seems), Google recently announced they will be adding A.I. features to their Workspace apps, including Docs, Gmail, Sheets, and Slides.

No word on an E.T.A. yet, but they are eager to catch up with Microsoft and OpenAI, so I expect to see something soon.
