Which Type of Problem?

The Business Builder Volume 3 Issue 19

You’ve spent money developing and running a marketing campaign and you’re not happy with the results. You need to fix the campaign…

…But where do you start?

Step one is determining the type of problem you have: a conversion problem or an economic problem.

A conversion problem occurs when you are not meeting your ROAS target due to poor conversions. Not enough people are saying “Yes.”

You have an economic problem when there is no way (within reason) to hit your target, no matter how many people say “Yes.” The math of your campaign just doesn’t work.

Most marketers focus solely on conversion metrics (opt-ins, conversion rates, etc).

But if you don’t also track financial metrics (cost per lead, average sale, etc.), you're only getting a partial view of your campaign’s performance.

And you can easily waste time and money chasing “solutions” that won’t solve the underlying problem.

So step one - determine which type of problem you have. Diagnose before you prescribe.

If you’d like some help with that, give me a shout.

It’s better to solve the right problem approximately than to solve the wrong problem exactly.
