Fish Prefer Worms
The Business Builder Volume 3 Issue 11

One of the hardest lessons to learn when it comes to marketing and selling your services is this - “You are not your prospect.”
Dale Carnegie, the author of How to Win Friends and Influence People, has a quote that illustrates this nicely. Here’s what he said:
“I personally like strawberries and cream, but I have found that for some strange reason, fish prefer worms. So when I go fishing, I don’t think about what I want. I think about what they want. I don’t bait the hook with strawberries and cream. I bait it with worms.”
“Why not use the same common sense when fishing for people?”
In other words, the key to persuasion is to focus on what others want.
And talk about that in your marketing and sales materials.
