3 Ways to Grow
The Business Builder Volume 3 Issue 9

If you want to grow your business, you’ve got 3 options:
Get more clients
Get each client to spend more
Get each client to buy more often
#1 gets the most attention. It’s also the hardest, most expensive way to grow.
To boost your average order or project size (#2), focus on the value of your offer. This is tough for firms that fail to differentiate and end up competing on price. The good news is that this is usually easy to fix, as long as you provide real results for your clients.
Getting clients to buy more often may be the easiest way to grow your business. But it often requires a shift in your mindset. I was lucky to receive this great advice early in my career:
“Prospects come to us with an idea for a project. Once they become a client, it’s our responsibility to bring new ideas to them.”
Don’t expect clients to know all the ways you can help - take the lead.
Of course, these 3 options aren’t mutually exclusive. Things get interesting when you combine all three.
Imagine what your business would look like with just a 5% increase in clients, who pay 5% more, and all of your clients buy 5% more often.
